Looking Well

A peeping gallery for moving images & video art

The Looking Well is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional village well as a meeting point. It creates a communal viewing experience, while providing a comfortable leaning position for the viewers. The structures has the effect of a peeping hole, seducing passers by to look inside. The seduction to peep in is enhanced by the sounds emitted from inside. The images revealed at the bottom of the well are reflected on the stainless steel cone, creating a kaleidoscopic effect.
